Platform Lead (M/F/D)

I am a Platform Lead.
What is your superpower?

As a Platform Lead, I am a key player in building up and representing a strong internal and external tech community. By bundling digital competencies within the Lufthansa Group and accelerating delivery, the Digital Hangar aims to increase customer satisfaction by further digitizing, harmonizing and interconnecting the customer travel experience. One of our focus areas is the representation of the tech community and any tech-related content as part of the overall Digital Hangar Marketing & Communication to attract external tech talent and foster tech understanding internally.


What I’ll do.

  • I form a dual leadership with the Platform Lead Digital Platforms and jointly manage our platforms in a strategic way
  •  I provide leadership and guidance to the IT platforms teams of Digital Hangar
  • I develop strategies for the IT platforms, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure which are aligned with overall tech strategy and the Digital Hangar objectives
  •   I manage the design, development, and deployment of IT platforms
  •   I ensure that the company’s IT platforms are secure, reliable, and scalable and that teams adhere to the IT governance, compliance and security standards
  •   I create and implement an overall roadmap of platform capabilities based on the alignment with product management and software engineering based on our objectives
  •   I manage the budget and resources of the IT platform department
  •  I manage the vendor relationship in close collaboration with procurement and sourcing functions and ensure that all contracts and agreements are in place
  • I oversee the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues related to IT infrastructure and IT platforms 
  • I develop and maintain IT documentation and procedures  


What I’ll need.

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience with large cross-functional and intercultural teams in a scaled agile environment
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in delivering strategic products to organizations (e.g., as product or portfolio manager)
  • Strong ability to structure complex issues, prioritize accordingly and facilitate between different parties
  • Strong communication skills and can easily facilitate discussions and analyses between different stakeholders and teams
  • Senior-level experience in leading, motivating, coaching, and developing people and teams, as well as practical knowledge of coaching tools in team management
  •  A desire and openness to learning and continuous improvement, both of myself and my team members
  • Knowledge of software-development processes, dependencies, and digital products, as well as methodologies and frameworks like SAFe, Scrum, Kanban and OKRs
  • Willingness to expand my comfort zone by sometimes leaving it
